Committed, connected and experienced
Lisa Meyerhans Sarasin graduated from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) in 1996 with a master’s degree in economics. She has continued her professional development ever since with various courses including the Executive Education Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
After graduating she learned the journalistic ropes at the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. As an editor in the business section, she primarily covered companies, investment products and developments on the financial markets, and was latterly responsible for the ‘Exchanges and Markets’ segment.
In 2000 she moved to Bank Vontobel, a listed banking group based in Zurich. Here she worked in corporate communications, amassing a wealth of experience across the board and ultimately becoming head of department with responsibility for the group’s entire communications, both internal and external.
Her keen interest in politics then took her to the federal capital of Bern, where in 2004 she became Head of Information in charge of communications at the Federal Department of Finance FDF. In spring 2007, she was appointed Secretary General of the FDF, serving as the department’s chief of staff and heading the General Secretariat through to autumn 2010. In 2011 she set up her own company – Meyerhans & Partner. In addition to this, she took up non-executive directorships at various companies in the financial and insurance sector. Social causes are also close to her heart: as well as being a member of the Foundation Board of charitable foundations, she presides the FDP.The Liberals party in her home town of Zollikon.
